The orthopaedic surgery department takes care of bone and joint disorders affecting the adult: surgery for arthritis of hip and knee, surgery for the ligament damage of the athlete’s knee, and correction of deformations of the forefoot. Adult osteoarticular trauma is treated in collaboration with the emergency department.

Fields of expertise

Hip and knee joint replacement :

Joint replacement surgery of the hip (hip prosthesis) and knee (knee prosthesis) is performed using modern (minimally invasive) techniques and within the framework of an enhanced rehabilitation protocol (ERP). The prosthetic devices are implanted using innovative techniques (2D and 3D preoperative planning, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence), with patient-specific implants. The department also participates in the development and validation of new techniques for the implantation of hip and knee joint replacements.

Surgery for athletes : cruciate ligament and meniscus :

These operations involve repairing of cruciate ligaments (by autograft), and operations on the meniscus (suture or resection). They are performed under arthroscopy (very short incisions, with an HD camera). The surgery requires an ambulatory hospitalization.

Surgery of the forefoot: Hallux valgus :

Surgery for forefoot deformity correction is performed by modern techniques through very short incisions and under scopic control. The surgery is possible on an ambulatory basis with a local anaesthetic protocol.
