Rheumatology is the speciality which diagnoses and treats acute or chronic conditions affecting the bones and joints:
- inflammatory rheumatism: poly-arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylolysis, psoriatic rheumatism (biotherapies)
- osteoporosis, fractured vertebrae
- spinal conditions: “back pain”, “lower-back pain”, sciatica
- cancer related bone conditions
- joint pain: osteoarthritis of the knee or hip, tendinitis
- complex regional pain syndrome
- fibromyalgia
- joint pains related to pregnancy
How?
Treatment is provided via external consultations, the out-patient and normal hospitalisation to the Internal and Specialised Medicine Unit.
