Hospital Medical Board
All of the establishment’s doctors and pharmacists are automatic members.
Every three years they elect a medical administration board composed of a president, vice-president, a patient admissions and treatment sub-committee co-ordinator and five other members representing the hospitals different activities.
Representatives of the hospital’s administration, presidency and General Management are invited to its plenary meetings.
The hospital medical board’s role is to manage the regulation and legislation applicable to its activity as a private public interest healthcare establishment.
The HMB is in charge of monitoring the professional independence of practitioners and participates in the evaluation of treatments (art L6162-2 of the (French) Public Health Code).
It is specifically consulted for matters concerning the establishment’s medical policy and contributes to the definition thereof.
It participates in healthcare safety and quality improvement policy(1), and the establishment of projects dealing with patient admission and treatment conditions(2).
